Part of the mission and vision of owners Dr. Richard Jackowski and Dr. Gregory Johnson is to train other dentists and spread knowledge about the work they love, and the expansion means they can bring on more associate dentists to teach. For example, in April, they added Dr. Lynnette Shugan, whose background is in pediatric dentistry, bumping the number of dentists at Pleasant Family Dentistry up to six. And as you might imagine, with the expansion complete, Pleasant Family Dentistry is accepting new patients. They offer a free initial exam and X-rays, as well as convenient online scheduling. Additionally, they file all insurances and can set up payment plans. Even if patients don’t have insurance, Pleasant Family Dentistry offers an in-office savings plan that covers patients’ preventive care and discounts treatments. On Sept. 8, the office will host its fifth annual Dentistry from the Heart charity day. They will be closed to regular patients while dentists and staff donate their time to serve the community’s uninsured and underinsured, providing complimentary dental care to the first 200 people who arrive. “It’s gotten really close to our heart over the years of doing it. We love giving back to a community who has given so much to us,” said Brattain.
